2006 Trek 1500 blue road bike
What happened
I went to see a movie with some friends, on a bright and busy Thursday afternoon downtown, locked it up to a bike rack at 2:45. Got out at 5:30 and it was gone. Security guards and their cameras were no help.
Bike details

- Size
- 56 cm with 26 in wheels
- Condition
- The frame, wheels and components were all good quality, with a few minor scrapes to the frame. The front brake lever (on the left) works fine, but was significantly scratched, with the end-cap at the top broken off. From ware and scrapes, there is electrical tape supplementing the bar tape in both drops and across the left top part of the bars. The seat is/was a Fizik Arione, and most components are mostly Shimano 105. The pedals are SpeedPlay Zero Stainless Steel, really small and meant to be clipped in; without the right cleats, it's difficult to ride. Both front and rear wheels were Bontrager Select, with Continental's Gatorskin tires. The back tire had more ware and was really smooth. The cyclo-computer mount on the handlebar had a latch at the bottom break off. It had been about 2 or 3 weeks without washing it, so it could still be pretty dirty (with road salt and some mud mostly around the back of the frame.
