Recovery notes
On November 20 2013, the victim wrote: Today marked a great victory against bike thieves. I was notified by two individuals on this page that that a bike was being sold which matched the description to a bike stolen from me in September (I had registered the bike with the stolen bike registry once it was stolen with my contact information). They called and emailed me about this sale, and I followed up with the individual selling the bike. After corresponding via Facebook I offered the individual $300 for what was my former bike, and planned to meet up with him at a gas station Monday afternoon (of course, a block from where the bike was stolen). My friend and I met the seller (a highschooler), explained the situation in a very calm and controlled manner, and posed the option of handing over the bike or having us follow up with the authorities... fortunately the chose the former of the two options I got my bike back and couldn't be happier. Thanks for all the work everyone puts into this... you're really making a difference!!
