Recovery notes
The CSBR received an email from the victim roughly 5 hours after receiving the initial theft report: Good news! I went to the Swap-O-Rama at lunchtime today---I'd never been there before; it's a huge flea market, outdoors in the spring, summer, and fall. Walked the full grounds and texted my wife to say, "Saw a bunch of stolen bikes, but not mine." I was taking a last mosey around when I spied a glint of silver and white in the back of a guy's van: There it was! I'd recognize that 1" head tube and silver brake lever from...well, 45 feet. I walked up, said, "That's my bike in your van. I'm going to need it back." He immediately went to "the guy who sold it to him" but I didn't listen, I took it and got the hell out of there. Sans pump, saddlebag, trailer hitch, (any reasonable dignity of handlebar angle,) and one bottle cage, but she's mine again. Now I'm going to start breathing again.
