What happened
My bike was locked onto the Metra station's bike rack. Decent open space with a decent amount of traffic. I'm new to the town and I wasn't aware of how risky to leave my bike out for that long even if there are plenty of public eyes. I didn't have my serial# written down anywhere since I bought the bike recently.
