What happened

Yes, this was a crazy, boneheaded situation. The bike was leaning against a building while we stood a few feet away and our backs were turned. The bike was just gone! We had not noticed or heard anyone. Look, the bike was brand new (3 weeks old) and was a birthday gift for someone who does not have any other mode of transportation.
