RecoveredWhat happened
I rode home on Saturday night. I locked my bike where I normally lock it with a heavy duty bicycle security chain. While I laid eyes upon it at least three times on Sunday I didn't ride it. Monday afternoon I leave the house to find it missing. The bike has a ring lock going through the rear wheel so unless that is removed (not that easy of a task) the bike will remain immobilized.

Recovery notes
The thief contacted a relative for help getting the lock off. The relative, well-connected in Chicago's organized cycling community, found the listing on the Chicago Stolen Bike Registry and contacted the owner and offered to help get the bike back. The owner reported the return of the bike on Tuesday 3/29/11, apparently via successful moral appeal to the thief.
