What happened
My bike was stolen from the bike racks behind University Hall on UIC's campus this afternoon. Friday afternoons are pretty dead at UIC, and the coffee shop and building was very sparsely populated by 5 pm, when I left to retrieve my bike. I don't know if I left the lock insecure (unlikely but possible) or if the thief was able to manipulate the bike rack or the lock itself; I can only speculate.
