What happened

I locked my bike to a street sign post in front of my mother's apartment building around 3:30pm. When I left the building at 9:30pm it was gone. Before locking it to the post, I asked the garage attendant if there was any place inside the garage where I might lock it, since it was raining outside and I preferred not to leave it out in the rain. But he said there was nothing to which I could lock it.
