Trek 700 (Multitrack?)

Recovered

What happened

The bike was unlocked inside my apartment building hallway. Having faith in neighbors I never lock the bike up. The bike went missing sometime between 5-7pm on Friday July 24th.

Bike details

Type
Road Bike
Color
Gray with red and/or gray decals
Size
20"
Condition
This is a bike purchased at Working Bikes (sticker still on the frame). I believe it is the Trek 700 Multitrack which is a hybrid / road bike. Looking up the bike on vintage-trek it seems like it was from 1998, and is described as silver/titanium with red decals. It has a yellow bottle holder, red Radius brake handles, light mounts on the handlebar & seat post, Planet BIke rear fender, basket on handlebars, raised/upright handlebar, new black tires with white and periwinkle logo. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Recovery notes

I posted an entry for my stolen bike back in July (theft report #183918 on your website). It is a grey Trek 700 multitrack. I am very very VERY happy to say I recovered it today [October 11 2009-ed] Amazing! My boyfriend and I were biking down W. 18th in Pilsen and there she was, locked up to the fence in front of an apartment building. I can't believe it, but my boyfriend saw it and demanded that we turn around to check it out. I was in disbelief, but it was definitely my bike, complete with almost all of the accessories I had had on it three months ago. After about 20 hours, providing my original receipt with serial number and my police report, an officer finally cut the lock off and I brought her home. Yay! I imagine that you somehow update your records, so hopefully you will do that with this one. Thanks for keeping up the registry, it's a great service, and I know it helps others bring their bikes home and feel as great as I do right now.
