What happened

Locked bike with a cable lock outside of River City to a railing since the bike rack was full. There is a camera on the bike rack, but there maybe an obstruction from a tree branch of the theaft. I will contact building amangment Monday to see what they have on the video footage. It was not a clean cut to the cable.

Te bike was used. More that 10 yr's old. Black Cook Brothers cranks, Mavic rims, red Ritchy clipless pedals, vetta seat, slick tires, WTB stem. The bike is very unique in that it has an elevated chain stey. BMX style rear. Rockshok Mag21 shocks. The picture is not my bike. But just picture this in the color white.

Good news, I was able to retrieve my Yeti Ultimate. I posted on craigslist and someone emailed me Sunday morning at 1 am. So, I headed down to the Roosevelt redline stop, which was 5 blocks from the theft. Cops, would cut the cable lock, but said it was ok for me to do it. Bought a bolt cutter and snipped that 1/2" cable like butter. What I did notice was that between 2 am and 9 am, The thief locked another bike to the same cable as well. So, I grabbed that bike as well hoping to find the owner. It's a new Iron Horse mtb, I think it was a Mavric 5.5, Olive green. After work I can take a photo and get the serial number. I did look on the registry but didn't see anything. Do you have a suggestion on this one? Also, the nice thing about my bike was that everything was intact. The back fender, a seat clamp style was on a cruiser locked up next to my bike. What got me was that I wonder how many bikes are stolen on that rack. I was going to take a picture, but not sure what to do. I have to admit, I was so tempted to take that cable lock and cut it into little pieces. Then stick it in a bag taped to that cruiers with a note saying this could happen to his balls if he continues to do this. Wife backed me out of that one..
